The Bachelor of Nursing Science at Sydney Medical College prepares students for a rewarding career as a registered nurse. The curriculum is aligned with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) standards, ensuring graduates are eligible for registration as nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA). Students benefit from simulation-based learning in our state-of-the-art clinical simulation center, which features high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality scenarios, and standardized patient encounters.

Prepare competent, compassionate, and culturally aware nursing professionals who can deliver safe, evidence-based care across diverse healthcare settings and contribute to the advancement of nursing practice.
Graduates will demonstrate clinical competence across all areas of nursing practice, apply evidence-based decision making, communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, practice within legal and ethical frameworks, and provide culturally safe care.
Lectures, clinical simulation, supervised clinical placements, case-based learning, reflective practice journals, flipped classrooms, interprofessional education sessions, and clinical skills laboratories.

General Information
Clinical placements total over 800 hours across the three years. Students are required to obtain immunizations, first aid certificates, and police clearances prior to placements. Shift work during clinical placements is required.
