Frequently Asked Questions

The Genuine Student (GS) requirement replaced the GTE in 2024. Applicants must write a GS statement explaining their genuine intention to study in Australia.

International students can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during study periods and unlimited hours during scheduled breaks. No separate work visa is needed.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is mandatory health insurance for international students. It covers medical expenses, hospital care, and pharmaceuticals during your stay.

The Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) allows 2 years for bachelor's graduates, 2 years for master's by coursework, 3 years for master's by research, and 4 years for PhD graduates.

Requirements vary by university and program. Generally: IELTS 6.0-7.0, PTE Academic 50-65, or TOEFL iBT 60-100 for most programs.
